PNW Therapy, LLC, specializes in couples therapy, individual therapy, and support for intimacy, life transitions, and relationship challenges.
EFT is a research-based approach that focuses on identifying and reshaping emotional responses within relationships. Using EFT techniques, I help couples identify cycles within the partnership and explore new ways of connecting.
I take a client-led, systemic approach to working with both couples and individuals, meaning the systems a client/couple operates in (family of origin, cultural, political) will often be a part of the therapeutic conversation as these systems impact who we are and how we engage in relationship with others.
Therapy for couples that focus on cycles, dynamics, and family of origin influences helps partners identify and understand the underlying patterns shaping their communication. We’ll work together to explore how past relational experiences are influencing your current emotional experiences, communication patterns, and behaviors within your intimate partnership and create a greater sense of connection, intimacy, and understanding between you and your partner.
Therapy for partners engaging in consensual non-monogamy (CNM) provides a safe, non-judgemental space for individuals and couples to explore their relational dynamics outside of traditional monogamy. We’ll focus on communication, boundary setting, and navigating the unique dynamics of CNM.
Couples therapy focused on sexual intimacy helps partners address and navigate challenges in their physical and emotional connection. We’ll work together in a safe and non-judgemental space to discuss concerns like communication issues, desire levels, infidelity, past traumas influencing sexual intimacy, and other sexual concerns. In the therapy room, we’ll strengthen trust through emotionally-focused communication, enhance intimacy, and create a more fulfilling sexual connection.
Couples therapy for infidelity focuses on navigating the complex emotions and issues arising from a partner’s infidelity, addressing underlying relational concerns, and creating a space in which partners can work together to heal from breaches of trust in relationship. We’ll work together to explore and determine the path forward, whether it is remaining in partnership or engaging in the conscious uncoupling process.
Couples therapy for intercultural relationships focuses on helping partners from different cultural backgrounds navigate through the complexities of bringing two distinct sets of cultural identities, cultural values, and cultural communication systems together. We’ll focus on recognizing how cultural backgrounds are influencing expectations, communication, and behaviors within the relational context.
Individual or coupled therapy for life transitions focuses on navigating and coping with transitions that are both expected and unexpected in life, including but not limited to: relationship changes, unexpected illness, death, immigration, significant milestones, professional transitions, and parenthood. We’ll work together to process your emotional experiences and/or grief, explore and redefine your values, and develop a deeper understanding of self.
Individual therapy focused on body image issues and/or disordered eating focuses on exploring our relationship to self, our relationship to food, and our experiences with the systems that influence our relationship to our bodies (family of origin, media, gender, etc). Engaging in this work can be incredibly challenging, but can also lead to positive transformation and change one’s relationship to self, to food, and to others.
Our first session together will be a full, 50 minute consultation/intake session. Our main goal for this session is to see if we’re a good fit and for me to get a better sense of what you’re looking to gain, explore, and address in the therapy space. Following the intake session, I recommend that clients start therapy at either a weekly frequency or an every other week frequency, depending on the needs of the client/couple. I offer, recommend, and prefer in-person sessions but am able to provide telehealth sessions when necessary.
All major credit cards are accepted. HSA cards are also accepted. I do not accept insurance; however, I am able to provide a superbill for possible out of network reimbursement.
If cancelations are not received within a 24 hour window prior to the session, I charge the entirety of the session fee.
PNW Therapy specializes in working with diverse couples of all backgrounds, orientations, and relationship dynamics. I’m skilled in assisting couples facing a spectrum of challenges, including but not limited to: communication barriers, intimacy issues, and sexual concerns.
